Howard, Catholic are hottest teams in DC
Howard’s women’s basketball team overcame a 21-point second-half deficit and stunned Wake Forest 63-59 Sunday night in overtime on the road. The Bison used second half runs of 14-2 and 10-0 to rally.
The Bison held the Demon Deacons scoreless for the last 5:06 of regulation and allowed only one field goal in OT to collect its first road win of the year, win its fourth straight and even its record 5-5, 2-0. The loss drops the Deacons to 7-3.
Christmas came early of Howard, which hit 91 percent of its free throws. The only two misses, came in OT.
